Boulder county fair, 2002

Personal aside: why all the firearms at this place? The exhibit hall was decked out with 4H projects like "A labeled diagram of the parts of a shotgun" and so forth. (A good half of them got ribbons too, including many that seemed to be copied out of the same encyclopedia edition.) Then off in the carnival area, a healthy chunk of the games were also using stylized rifles & pistols of various degrees. In one, there were prizes given out for accurately shooting a dude in a turban. Some of the rest just had grenades. I guess the company running this comes from Texas and I understand that's the thing down there, but I'm more for the Ferris Wheel & goats & pigs myself.
