`The Morning After,' hut trip to CMC Cabin, Brainard Lake, Feb 2003

The basic idea was a three-day, two-night trip to the cabin. It's an easy ski in, in particular in the summer, when the cabin is about 50 meters from the road. A good number of us stayed both Saturday and Sunday nights. As is the tradition at the CMC cabin, those staying for the night must stick around during the day to serve warm beverages to the multitude of people who may come by on their day trips.

The trip was distinguished by the particularly high quality edibles, in particular:

• Burritos with avocados (by Darrell), cilantro (by Susan), wrapped in square wrappers for the lucky ones
• A plethora of unpronounceable French cheeses
• SweetHearts and SweetTarts, both clean and dirty
• Some half-dozen bottles of wine, with various other liqueurs for good measure, in particular the Stoli Vanilla
• An ungodly number of fresh chocolate chip oatmeal cookies
• Chocolate chip pancakes
• The pineapple (featured in several photos with its friend the mango)
• Baked lasagne, courtesy of one of the few hut ovens, and the skills required to use it. Tofu and tofu-free varieties available.
• Fancy-ish omelettes
• A triumvirate of ice creams
• Brownies that were never made because we couldn't bear the thought of more mindless consumption
