Full Resolution Looking to the south, the lightning and clouds are building up. Below them... hndreds and hundreds of fireflies! I love this pic: fire above, fire in the middle, and fire below.
The clouds were rolling in, but we managed to avoid the rain. The planets were bright and beautiful. We set up the telescope with an eyepice and gave a tour of the sky to Reynaldo and his two kids, looking at Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. By that point we were pretty clouded over, so we packed up and started the two-hour drive back to the hotel.
