Full Resolution 7:40 PM. 45 minutes before the event, there was a clearing, and we could definitely see things opening up. We unloaded the telescope from the truck, set it up in record time, and aligned on Arcturus. We needed a second star to align to, so we waited for Antares to come back. It never did, and then every star that we'd seen slowly went away.
We were at T-15 minutes to the event, and no stars. We saw our target field in Sagittarius once -- where both MU69 and our target star were hiding -- but then it was gone.
