We planned to visit Ouzel Lake (in the Wild Basin area, SE corner of RMNP) in order to seek out the elusive water ouzel. (My plan, at least.) Most of the ouzels turned out to be other birds; the closest match was a squirrel making very ouzel-like sounds in a tree. Alas.
We camped one night at the lake. The main festivities on the way in
were Kathy's brownies, followed closely by the dinner-time lunar eclipse.
Festivities on the second day included the attendants waiting at the
warming hut (Fran and Joan), and Ford Motor Company powertrain test
engineer Ben and his engineering-spec 2005 (!) diesel Econonline van.
