Yellowstone, May 2003

The idea was to bike around Yellowstone. I was initially offended by the idea of short distances (30-40 miles/day) and luxurious accomodations (beds and restaurants?! Bring the rainfly instead!). However, it turned out to be a fully-appropriate way to tour the park. Four days gave us time to look at (almost) every major geological/biological attraction alongside the road. The one day I spent off the bike was remarkably disappointing -- everything went by so fast, and I had to make much more of an effort to actually stop at it all.

Personnel consisted of AHT & Bruch Hecht on the tandem from Corvallis; Larry Ferro & Ken Thacker from Pocatello; HBT from Boulder. Photos by AHT/HBT.
