NASA Mars Curiosity Rover Launch, Florida, November 2011

We went to Florida for the launch of the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) and its Curiosity rover. Launch was the day after Thanksgiving, so we spent the holiday on the beach. We spent a couple of days in Florida with non-launch activities: a tour of KSC, kayaking for manatees, sandcastles on the beach, birding the the wetlands, and a swamp-boat tour with alligators, horses, and cows.

Usually I have detailed captions for the photos, but I put these photos up 10 years after they were taken. If made captions, they'd never get up at all.
